Lakshadweep is an Indian union territory with 36 islands in the Laccadive Sea in the Arabian Sea. The word Lakshadweep means “a hundred thousand islands” and reflects the pristine beauty of the archipelago. It is formed of 36 islands, of which 10 are permanently inhabited. Lakshadweep with its water biodiversity, pristine environment, and coral reefs is the most unique neighboring land. It is our Union Territory, which is the smallest when it comes to both land area and population.
